| Bunionectomy:
A bunion is an enlargement of the joint at the base of the big toethe metatarsophalangeal (MTP) jointthat forms when the bone or tissue at the big toe joint moves out of place. This forces the toe to bend toward the others, causing an often painful lump of bone on the foot. Since this joint carries a lot of the bodys weight while walking, bunions can cause extreme pain.
In a bunionectomy, the enlarged bone on the side of the big toe is removed. The bone may be surgically repositioned and the incision closed.
Your doctors office will inform you how to prepare for your surgery. If you have any questions regarding your surgery or your instructions, you should contact your doctor.
A nurse anesthetist or anesthesiologist will give you medication through a vein to make you relaxed and sleepy. Surgery usually takes about 1 2 hours. Recovery time is approximately 1 hour.
You must have a responsible person drive you home after your procedure. You may not walk, take a taxi, bus, or any other form of public transportation.

Arthroplasty:
Hammer toes are little toes that buckle or curl under. This is caused by the tightening of ligaments and tendons. Shoes rub on the prominent portion of the toe, leading to inflammation. Over time, these toes may hurt and it may become difficult to walk.
In arthroplasty, a portion of the joint is surgically removed, and the "hammer toe" is straightened. The gaps fill with fibrous tissue.

Plantar Fasciitis and Heel Spurs:
Two common conditions that can cause pain to the bottom of the heel are plantar fasciitis and heel spur(s). When chronic heel pain fails to respond to conservative treatment, surgical care may be warranted.
Plantar fasciitis is an inflammation of a fibrous band of tissue in the bottom of the foot that extends from the heel bone to the toes. This tissue can become inflamed for many reasons, most commonly from irritation by placing too much stress (such as excess running and jumping) on the bottom of the foot.
Heel Spur(s) or heel spur syndrome are most often the result of stress on the muscles and fascia of the foot. This stress may form a spur on the bottom of the heel. While many spurs are painless others may produce chronic pain.

Blepharoplasty:
As we age, eyelid skin stretches, muscles weaken, and normal deposits of protective fat around the eye bulge. Blepharoplasty or eyelid surgery is performed to remove excess eyelid tissues (skin, muscle or fat).

Lacrimal Drainage Dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR):
DCR is a surgery performed to treat those with tearing disorders caused by blockage or excessive tearing. If it is determined that the main drain, the nasolacrimal duct, is blocked, then you may need DCR surgery. This surgery essentially creates a new drainage system for your eyes.

Ptosis Repair:
Ptosis is a term used to describe the upper eyelid margin drooping over the pupil blocking vision. Ptosis is most commonly due to stretching of the levator muscle in the eyelid. Surgery to correct ptosis is designed to reattach the stretched muscle back to its normal location.
